Electives

Scope

The first 10 elements are included to cover the fundamentals of the resin flooring trade, however there are other areas that resin flooring contractors can branch into.

This section is designed to invite comment about the specialist areas you feel should be made available as part of the framework.

Each of the electives will have Key Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria as per core elements.

The following are proposed electives for a resin flooring training program:

  • Polyurethane (PU) cement flooring systems
  • Methylmethacrylate (MMA) flooring systems
  • Polyester/vinyl ester flooring systems
  • UV-cured flooring systems
  • 3D flooring systems
  • Process and installation management

The information above is intended as a starting point for discussion only. Please feel free to suggest any changes or additions you think will improve this element of training and provide a short explanation if possible. Your comments will be added to the other industry feedback we receive for this element.

Yes! I agree with Jay. Perhaps a section dedicated to primary and secondary containment, resin structure selection criteria based on chemical , concentration, temp, volume, time of exposure. Then thickness and fabric reinforcement based on traffic, thermal cycling, heat exposure, condition of concrete.

How about fiber reinforced such as might be found in containment structures ... my background is industrial ...chemical off-loading ramps, ship decks, tank flooring, secondary containment ... all are reliant on prep and selection of materials ...
